Big Science Business Forum 2022 will be the second edition of the single one-stop-shop for European companies and other stakeholders to learn about Europe’s Big Science organisations’ future investments and procurements worth 37 billion euros. Following the success of the first edition, which took place in 2018 in Copenhagen, the forum will offer your business the chance to:

  • Learn about business opportunities in the coming years, within a wide range of business areas and technologies.
  • Meet representatives from Europe’s Big Science organisations and their key suppliers and technology experts.
  • Network and establish long lasting partnerships via business-to-business meetings (B2B), business-to-customer meetings (B2C).

  • Get insight into procurement rules, IPRs, technology transfer proposals, SME opportunities and how businesses can interplay with the Big Science market. 

 

BSBF2022 will take place in Granada (Spain) to support the European  IFMIF-DONES project in Granada. The International Fusion Materials Irradiation facility - DEMO Oriented NEutron Source infrastructure will enable scientists to test materials in an environment of neutron irradiation similar to that of a demonstration fusion reactor. IFMIF-DONES was included in 2018 as a Project in the ESFRI Roadmap 2018.

Big Science as a business area – 16 Parallel sessions

BSBF2022 will address 10 topics of Big Science as a business area as well as other 6 specific sessions dedicated to: IFMIF-DONES; Research Infrastructures in Horizon Europe; SMEs; Affiliated Big Science Organisations and Career Opportunities and Pathways. Extensive parallel sessions will focus on Big Science investments worth 37,100 M€ in the coming years in the following areas:

Plenary session I - The investment potential of Europe’s Big Science market

In the programme’s plenary session I, participants have a unique opportunity to get to know the investment potential of Europe’s Big Science market when high level speakers from the ten organising Big Science organisations will present their individual organisations. See the list of prominent speakers in the conference programme.

Plenary session II - How to do business with Big Science Organisations

In plenary session II, participants will get to know the key aspects of engaging in business with Big Science organsiations. In this plenary session all heads of procurement from the 11 co-organising Big Science organisations will gather in a round table to discuss different aspects like procurement rules and regulations, technical and financial requirements, managements of IPRs, etc.

Plenary session III - Closing of BSBF2022

Plenary session III will draw conclusions about BSBF2022. Different representatives will be invited to a round table to express their views about the future of the Big Science market and the role of BSBF to strengthen its potential and future.
