About: The Woman in Science Event intends to provide a platform where public organizations and industries operating in Big Science projects can share the experiences, lessons learned and best practices on policies to increase the participation of women. It will also offer the participants a framework for networking.

This initiative is in line with the EU’s objective to achieve structural change for gender equality in research and innovation through Horizon Europe. The two-hours session will be structured along a poster exhibition and networking; a round table discussion, and the Women in Big Science Recognition Award.

Round table discussion ( Manuel de Falla ): “How is Big Science contributing to gender equality?”

The objective is to understand the context by answering some of the following questions:

Is gender balance strategically addressed in Big Science? How is the culture of our organisations positively impacting gender balance and ensuring the visibility of women? Should gender diversity be a parameter taken into consideration in public procurement?

A total number of five speakers will be invited to share their experience on gender equality representing the Big Science and innovation community, such as policy makers, universities, industry, research facilities, and organisations. A moderator will animate the conversation and summarise key findings.
