The Centro de Investigaciones, Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT), Spain, in collaboration with other Spanish institutions are organizing the 20th edition of the International Conference on Fusion Reactor Materials (ICFRM-20) to be held in Granada, Spain, from 24th through 29th October 2021.
The ICFRM is a biennial convention which focuses on fusion materials, both structural and functional materials, and superconductors, without disregarding the analysis of the effects of irradiation. Thus, the ICFRM is the main international congress where the experts who study, develop and qualify materials for fusion energy installations from all over the world meet. It is therefore the best platform to present state-of-the-art research methods and scientific and technological results in fusion materials science.
It should be noted that the ICFRM-20 will have a space with the possibility for industry representatives to showcase their know-hows and get in touch with other participants in the meeting to learn about present and future acquisition needs and to promote business opportunities.
The Local Organizing Committee and the General Chair are working hard, despite the many uncertainties related to the COVID-19 pandemic, to make the ICFRM-20 a safe (from a health perspective) and noteworthy (from a scientific view point) event. However, with any future developments and risk mitigation in mind, the Organizing Committee is also working in parallel on other choices to make the ICFRM-20 feasible and available online, thus continuing the unbroken series of ICFRM conferences over four decades. The aim is to provide an opportunity for the entire community of fusion materials experts to present, share and discuss the progress made over the previous two years.
The ICFRM-20 meeting will last six days and will include the following topics:
